Nevada Medical Board / Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners
The Nevada Medical Board is one of the more difficult boards in
which to obtain a license. The reasons for this are as follows:
Nevada has the most expensive licensure fee. Over $1400.00.
Nevada NO Longer requires the SPEX examination for Physicians
who are "Grandfathered" by their ABMS Board. If your ABMS Board has issued you a
"Lifetime" Certification and does not require that you re-certify then you are
exempt from the SPEX.
The Nevada Medical Board requires all Physician's to go through
a FBI background check.
Nevada has strict requirements on accuracy concerning Errors and
Omissions. Minor omissions will require that the Physician amend the original
application to insure 100% accuracy. Omissions or Errors concerning
"negative issues" will result in a denial of the application by the
Medical Board.
In May/June of 2005, the Nevada Medical Board banned 3 of our
competitors from working with Physicians attempting to license in Nevada. All
three licensing companies were making changes to the physicians application
after the Nevada Medical Board had requested that the Physician (him/herself)
make the changes to incorrect entries. When the Board discovered that the
licensing companies were violating Nevada's rules, then the Board took
action.
Nevada does not deviate from their rules and requirements.

licensing requirements are as follows:
